2. Eligibility

4. Competition Rules
Each competition may have its own specific rules, eligibility criteria, judging process, submission requirements, and deadlines.

To ensure fairness, transparency, and a high standard of innovation, all participating schools, teachers, and students must adhere to the following rules and guidelines.
a. Eligibility
- The competition is open to students from Classes III to XII studying in recognized schools across India.
- Participation must be made through the registered school only.
- Students may participate individually or as a team, subject to the competition guidelines.
- A school may register multiple students and multiple projects.
b. Project Requirements
- Projects must be original and developed by the participating students.
- The model should be a real working model that demonstrates a practical solution to a real-life problem.
- Projects may be based on Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, IoT, Environment, Healthcare, Agriculture, Energy, Smart Cities, Social Innovation, or other approved categories.
- Previously awarded or copied projects are not permitted.
c. Originality & Ethics
- Plagiarism, duplication, or submission of another person's work is strictly prohibited.
- Schools must ensure that all submitted projects are the genuine work of the participating students.
- NYIL reserves the right to reject or disqualify any project found to violate originality or ethical standards.
d. Registration
- Schools must complete the online registration process through the official NYIL website.
- Registration is confirmed only after successful payment (where applicable) and verification by NYIL.
- All participant information must be accurate and complete.
e. Project Submission
- Projects must be submitted before the specified deadline.
- Required documents, photographs, videos, and project reports must be uploaded through the school login portal.
- Incomplete submissions may not be considered for evaluation.
f. Evaluation Criteria
Projects will be assessed by expert judges based on:
- Innovation and Originality
- Practical Application
- Problem-Solving Ability
- Technical Design and Functionality
- Creativity
- Presentation and Communication
- Social and Environmental Impact
- Sustainability
- Overall Quality and Feasibility
The decision of the judging panel shall be final and binding.
g. Code of Conduct
- Participants must maintain honesty, discipline, and respect throughout the competition.
- Any form of misconduct, misrepresentation, or unfair practice may lead to immediate disqualification.
- Schools are responsible for guiding students to follow all competition rules.
h. Awards & Recognition
- All eligible participants will receive a Digital Participation Certificate.
- Outstanding projects will receive Merit Certificates, Trophies, Medals, Awards, and National Recognition.
- Awards may be presented at District, State, and National levels, subject to competition guidelines.
i. Intellectual Property
- Students retain ownership of their original ideas and projects.
- By participating, schools grant NYIL permission to display project titles, photographs, videos, and brief descriptions for educational, promotional, and evaluation purposes.
- NYIL will not claim ownership of the intellectual property created by participants.
j. Disqualification
A project may be disqualified if:
- It contains false or misleading information.
- It is copied or plagiarized.
- It violates safety or ethical standards.
- It is submitted after the deadline without prior approval.
- It does not comply with the competition guidelines.
k. Safety Guidelines
- Projects must be safe to demonstrate.
- Dangerous chemicals, explosives, hazardous materials, or unsafe equipment are not permitted unless specifically approved.
- Electrical or mechanical models must be handled under teacher supervision.
l. Important Note
NYIL reserves the right to modify competition schedules, categories, evaluation procedures, rules, or award structures whenever necessary. Any updates will be communicated through the official NYIL website and registered school accounts.
By registering for the Nation's Young Innovation League (NYIL), schools, teachers, students, and parents acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these Competition Rules.
- Submit original work.
- Avoid plagiarism or copyright infringement.
- Follow the competition instructions.
- Respect judges' decisions, which shall be final unless otherwise stated.
NYIL reserves the right to disqualify participants who violate competition rules.
5. Intellectual Property
Participants retain ownership of their original submissions.
By submitting entries to NYIL, participants grant NYIL a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to:
- Display submitted work.
- Publish winners and selected entries.
- Use submissions for educational, promotional, and competition-related purposes with appropriate acknowledgment where applicable.
Participants confirm that their submissions do not infringe upon the rights of any third party.
6. Certificates, Awards & Recognition
Certificates, awards, prizes, and recognition will be provided according to the announced competition rules.
NYIL reserves the right to:
- Verify participant information.
- Modify prize distribution if required.
- Withhold awards in cases of fraud or rule violations.
7. Payments
Where registration fees apply:
- All fees are displayed before payment.
- Payments are processed securely through authorized payment partners.
- Unless otherwise specified, registration fees are non-refundable once registration is successfully completed.
Refunds, if applicable, will follow the specific competition's refund policy.
8. User Conduct
Users agree not to:
- Upload offensive, abusive, defamatory, or illegal content.
- Impersonate another individual or organization.
- Attempt unauthorized access to NYIL systems.
